Go with the Flow
My work creates an interesting dialogue across time through two pieces of Chinese calligraphy. It explores the value of human life through two distinct scripts: standard script and small-seal script.
Inspired by Taoism advocated by sage Laozi, I gather the lyrics from a song called 任我行 written by Albert Leung in 2013 and a dialogue between Qu Yuan and a wise fisherman to evoke audiences’ reconsideration about our path.
The first piece in Standard Script examines the concept of a good path for adults, while the second piece is a response to the former piece, showing audiences a new perspective on determining their path. By embracing nature, I hope to go with the flow and invite viewers to find their own way unfetteredly.
