Our Life

The artwork is a coursework in an illustration course partnered with Midnight Blue, which is a non-profit organisation committed to developing a mutual support network for male and transgender sex workers in Hong Kong. After reading the oral history of the LGBT community and collaborating with transgender individuals, we ultimately presented our final illustration project on gender in an exhibition at Not a Gallery. We explored the connection between visual language and social gender using comics as a method of study, producing several comic stories that challenge society’s binary gender order. We acted as both agents and thinkers through the observation of gender dimensions, which sparked my curiosity about the experiences of sexual minorities and encouraged conversations and reflection about societal norms.
